If you were considering a conversion for 6:30 PM instead, the converted military time would be 1830 or 18:30 on the 24-hour clock. 6:30 AM + Add 0 to the beginning 06:30 or 0630 military time. Since we already know how to tell the time with the numbers from 1-12, let’s look at the time with the numbers from 13-23. Since we are considering 6:30 AM, we would add a 0 (zero) to the beginning hours. You just say the number ( quindici / trenta). When the 24-hour clock is used, the expressions using quarto and mezzo are not used. For example, 3:00 on a 12-hour clock could be 3:00 a.m. It eliminates the need for AM or PM notations as Military Time works from the 24-hour clock. The 24-hour clock, also known as military time, tells time by dividing the day into 24-hour increments, numbered 0000 to 2400. In Italian, it is common to use the 24-hour clock ( sistema delle 24 ore) especially with transport times (plane and train schedules), movie times, concert times or any official time. We have already seen how to tell the time in Italian, though this is using the typical 12-hour clock.
