12/4/2023 0 Comments Atc 110 motor swap![]() I also just discovered another interesting quirk in AZ motor vehicle law, called ASP, which means "assembled from spare parts". Once registered, they never see it again. In AZ, a moped does not have to be in running condition to register it, since anything under 50cc is exempt from emissions testing. and if you're going to go to all that work and expense, I'd get the moped registered as a moped first. ![]() Besides just attaching the engine to the moped frame, you will have to deal with front and rear sprocket alignment, intake and exhaust routing, and front fender/wheel clearance. What you're talking about can be done, if you're really good at fabricating and welding, but you will need a good solid frame, like a Magnum, Sebring, or TSM, and you may need to add some reinforcement to the frame. Here's a link to the kind of engine I'm th Here's a link to the kind of engine I'm thinking of. :D Maybe, if it were a top tank, I would maybe make the ped look like a cafe racer. Exhaust would be another interesting thing (to make a system, it would be quiet). Maybe get a semi-auto so I wouldn't have to relocate the rear brake (because if it were manual clutch, I would put the clutch on the left side of the bars, and then would have to somehow move the brake to the right foot peg).Īnything wrong with my idea? I know I'd have to fab mounts and redo wiring, but I have a lot of welding experience, have a MIG, and have steel. So, here's my plan-īuy a rolling chassis of a ped, or one with an engine that is toast (preferably top tank).īuy one of those 110cc or similar 4 stroke Honda knock off engines on eBay. I don't really want to start modding the Ciao's engine for speed or power, because the thing only has like 800 miles on it. I love getting into 6th gear on my dirtbike. I love my Ciao, but also love manual transmissions. I want a ped that can handle hills around here better than my '74 Ciao, and want a manual transmission ped.
